American Conservatives

Paraphrased statements I have read or heard since 2017

1. “If they would just get out of his (Trump’s) way, he’d make everything ok.”

2. “The Deep State is conspiring against Trump.”

Both of these are claims that demonstrate the deep Anti-Constitutional Authoritarianism that Conservatives hold.

Regarding Statement 1 — the US Constitution maintains three co-equal branches of government, each branch designed to provide a check on the excesses of the other branches. Hoping that the Legislative and the Judicial (as well as the Fourth Estate of The Media) get out of the way of the Executive is to hope for an unfettered Executive Branch, an “Imperial Presidency”. Conservatives want a King. They are not only anti-Constitutional forces, they are opposed to the Anglo Political tradition dating back to the Magna Carta. They are opposed to Liberalism, not only in its American political sense but also in its Enlightenment sense. American Conservatives would return the world to the Ancien Regime.

Regarding Statement 2 — The Deep State is generally held to be career government employees at State, at Justice and, to a limited degree, at Defense. They are considered to be those who are not politically appointed. Conservatives would prefer all those in these positions be political flunkies, part of a Party Apparatus.

In this regard, American Conservatives are not conservative. They are a Right Leninist collection seeking the revolutionary overthrow of the US Constitution, through subterfuge, voter suppression, and over undemocratic means.

Additionally, the joy that American Conservatives have for lifetime political appointments such as Gorsuch and Rape’em’all to the SCOTUS demonstrates their cynical and underhanded partisan perspective.

American Conservatives are simultaneously using Leninist tactics and strategy to return the world to the Ancien Regime while being in essence un-Reconstructed White Supremacists who have used Free Market Economics as a lure to brainwash at least two generations of Media innocents into believing their economic suffering is the fault of the Other, that other being Black, Brown, Muslim, or Woman. The reality is the cause of 40 years of American Lower and Middle Class economic suffering is Neoliberalism.

Neoliberalism has its intellectual roots in Hayek, the Chicago School, Austrian Economics, the Mont Pelerin Society, and James Buchanan’s Public Choice School at George Mason U. Neoliberalism is the final outcome of Neoclassical Economics. Neoclassical Economics is withering and will die. From its rotting trunk will yield a more robust and hopefully humane economics with two branches — Behavioral Economics and Biophysical Economics.

Philosophical Problem -

Given the branches, there must be a trunk and roots. The Constitution is the Root.

So here’s what will really bake your noodle:

A) Is the Constitution a proto, analog-form of an OS? or

B) Is it a metaphor from a digital society anachronistically applied to an 18th century legal document?

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“Any(boi)dy who thinks Libertarianism is the solution to the world’s problems is simply saying He lacks the balls, the imagination, and the cultural dexterity to be an Anarchist.”
